HOLY PILGRIMAGE TO LISBON, FATIMA, SANTIAGO, LOURDES & ROME

Please join us as we travel on a Holy Pilgrimage to Lisbon, Fatima, Santiago, Lourdes and Rome. This exciting pilgrimage is set for Sept. 12-26, 2012 and includes stops in Lisbon, Fatima, Santiago de Compestello, Leon, Roncesvalles and Lourdes where Mary embraces with merciful love all who come to visit her.  Finishing off with 3 days in Rome, this is a pilgrimage of a lifetime.  Experience pilgrim Masses in historic cities and sites, especially at Fatima and Lourdes. Come spend 12 days with Our Lady in the heart of Europe!  For more information please contact Fr. Ugo or Pio George at 403-256-5986.  Download an itinerary here:  Pilgrimage

During the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, children from our parish are invited to gather in the upper hall to listen to a simplified Liturgy of the Word more appropriate to their level of understanding. After the Liturgy of the Word, the children work on an activity with their teachers, and then re-join their parents and the rest of the congregation in celebrating the remainder of the mass. Seen here are some of these children’s artwork! Best viewed in full screen! Enjoy!

The Alpha, “A Life Worth Living” Course is now over.  Thank you to all participants for your inspiration, love and commitment to the program; to Maria Mancuso for always setting up the room; and to the Leadership Group for their guidance and direction! We hope that you were blessed and encouraged by the teaching that took place and we pray that you will continue to be involved in Faith Development here in our church.

On Wednesday, January 11th, we celebrated the FEAST OF PATRON SAINT CHRISTINA. Christina was a young girl who was persecuted for her faith in the Lord.  The torments to which this young girl was subjected would seem as difficult to devise as to imagine; but God was beside her at all times.  A special thank you to the PEZZENTE family for helping to organize the mass. For photos of the celebration; and friends and family of the region who revere her, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Beginning on the First Sunday of Advent, the Church in Canada implemented the third edition of the Roman Missal. Each week we will bring you information about the revised Roman Missal and its implementation in the Diocese of Calgary. Here is a Worship Aid – Download: icon Mass Response Card (Trifold Leaflet). What does “consubstantial with the Father” mean?
“Consubstantial with the Father” means that Jesus and God the Father are of the same “stuff.” It’s a word that dates from the early centuries of the Church, as the Christian community struggled to articulate its faith in the Trinity, and its experience of the oneness of God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

What does “descended to hell” mean?
The word hell, in the Catholic theological tradition, can have two meanings, the place of eternal separation from God and the place of the dead. The Creed refers to this last understanding.

What does “and with your spirit” mean?  It is our response to the priest’s blessing, “The Lord be with you,” which  is a time-honoured biblical greeting (think of Gabriel’s greeting to Mary, and the name that Gabriel tells Mary her Son will bear: Emmanuel, God with us). The spirit is the very innermost reality of the human person. This dialogue reveals the Lord’s presence among, in and to all of those who have gathered to celebrate the Mass.

Our Lady of Grace celebrated it 25th Anniversary on Saturday October 2nd!  CLICK HERE TO SEE PICTURES of this amazing event celebrated by over 400 people in attendance!  Also available for viewing is the September issue of The Carillon describing our parish’s rich history.
