The feast of San Martino is observed the 11th of November. This day traditionally, in parts of Italy, is also used to celebrate the new wine. Here the grapes are harvested the end of September / beginning of October and by this time the fermentation is complete and the grape juice is now a young wine ready to be tasted. But you don’t want to drink alone, so you get a lot of good friends together and make it into a wonderful evening with plenty of food, music, singing and the wine takes care of the rest! Pictured here are 220 of Our Lady of Grace family members celebrating on Saturday, November 12th! – faith, family and friends -that’s what our parish is all about! Many thanks to the City View Fundraising Society and it’s ongoing mission to serve our parish’s financial needs …. and thank you to the many volunteers who worked hard to make the event such a great success!
